Aalborg University was created in 1974 as one of the first universities in the world fully based on a unique problem-based, project- organised educational setup, supported now by Aalborg Centre for PBL in Engineering Science and Sustainability under the auspices of UNESCO. AAU counts more than 20.000 students and 5.000 staff. It is ranked in the top 2% of the world’s universities due to its strong research programs especially in engineering and it is highly ranked for its contribution to the UN’s SDGs.
